I like a cook who smiles out loud when he tastes his own work.

When an aspiring restaurateur (who also happens to be an amazing chef
) calls you to her house for a tasting... there is only one logical answer for the invitation; YAAAASSSSSSS
. The invitation gave me the chance to enjoy the drive to her house; nothing beats a drive through the tea plantations in Kiambu county
.... it's the most amazing drive. (I digress, let me get back on track
Seeing that I was early to the party, I got to actually watch the lovely chef in action, and I loved every minute of it. Nothing beats the excitement of watching a chef create art from food.
Seriously, have you watched how gracefully a chef dances around the kitchen? Have you watched how they quickly, and firmly chop up all the various ingredients without injuring themselves? Have you seen how they toss food off the grill and flip it around to ensure that everything is evenly browned? How about how they delicately plate the food; how they tenderly and lovingly ensure everything is placed perfectly; so that it's pleasing to the eye? One thing is for sure, a chef is the best kind of artist... and I'm about to show the delicious masterpieces that I had the pleasure of indulging.
Dear Vegetarians... you are going to love this....
The tasting started off with the most delicious vegetarian burger; which she called the quinoa burger. The burger's patty is quinoa and bean based (then you will hear people say that vegetarians don't get enough protein..SMH). The burger also has chipotle mayo, provolone cheese, avocado and rocket. This is one veeerrry delicious burger (and coming from a carnivore... that's saying a lot). Can you imagine a vegetarian burger that leaves you asking for more?
The only thing I like better than talking about food is eating.

The next burger I got to taste is the very simple, yet VERY YUMMY spanish burger. What makes this burger special? it's the authentic chimi-churi sauce; that is a herb-based sauce (the green stuff on top of the beef patty). This burger I must say was my favourite burger (*wipes drool of my key board*)
I was honoured enough to have a taste of a trial burger (or an exclusive burger) that the chef called the blue cheese 2.0... This burger has blue cheese, rocket, caramelized onions, and pear. Who knew that some fruit can add a delicious kick to a burger.
(Just a heads up, you will not find this burger on Moos Burger menu)
Another burger I tasted was a cheddar, chipotle mayo, bacon, and guacamole burger (that's a mouth full... literally). After that, I finally ended my burger filled afternoon by stuffing my face with a fried chicken sandwich; which was made with buttermilk fried chicken, sweet pickles, and red cabbage slaw (aaah... I think I need to stop here because I can hear my tummy growling 😋).
Holding onto this delicious secret has been the hardest thing (I can't keep secret especially when it has to do with food). Moos burgers is about to become your favourite neighbourhood burger joint... and I hope this blog post has left you hungry for more 😉.
